Natalia Kusendova-Bashta is the MPP for Mississauga Centre and Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care.
Natalia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human and Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto, a degree in Nursing from Nipissing University, and is currently pursuing her Master of Nursing Research degree at Toronto Metropolitan University. She speaks five languages- English, Polish, French, Czech, and Slovak.
She previously served as Policy and Political Action Executive Network Officer for the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (Peel Chapter), and as member of the Canadian Polish Congress National Executive Board.
Since being elected, she has been a strong advocate for Ontario healthcare patients and their diverse medical needs. She tabled Bill 121, the Improving Dementia Care in Ontario Act, a forward-thinking bill to that if passed, would help improve care for dementia and Alzheimer’s patients and train personal support workers. She successfully advocated for reducing the age of breast cancer screenings from fifty to forty, and tabled a motion to expand Ontario’s lung cancer screening program. Natalia is passionate about improving the lives of all Ontarians.
Natalia is a Registered Nurse who has worked on the front line of our healthcare system at the Etobicoke General Hospital Emergency Department, as well as the Vanier Centre for Women before entering politics and again during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Natalia is passionate about her community and is ready to continue her hard work for the people of Mississauga Centre.
